Thanks for the replies, I'll continue to see what I can do to get it to work. The features and interface are self-explanatory, making them easy to use and improving the time it takes to record or make a track. This program has built-in synthesizers, equalizers and can also be used with external instruments via USB, to compose and produce songs. Its a Motorola OEM cable so I doubt its a cable issue, but that will confirm if it is or not. Guess I'll give it a try on my laptop Monday that is running Windows 8. This is a fairly new install of Windows 10 as well, installed it about 3 weeks ago. I've tried using USB 3.0 ports and old USB 2.0 ports with the same results.
Its just showing up as a Serial COMM port. However for whatever reason my OS is not detecting it as a Network adapter. Turn the radio off - connect the cable to the radio - connect the cable to the computer - power the radio on - wait for Windows to recognize the USB device - wait for Windows to recognize the network - read or write to the radio Ya that is exactly what I'm doing.
You can also use Bluetooth for programming the XPR7550 and XPR5550.but that has it's own issues. Here is my current process: - turn the radio off - connect the cable to the radio - connect the cable to the computer - power the radio on - wait for Windows to recognize the USB device - wait for Windows to recognize the network - read or write to the radio Once everything is connected, it seems the connection will survive the radio restarting after pushing settings to the radio. I have occasional problems if I connect the radio with it powered on. Most of the time when I connect my radio Windows pops up a message asking how I want to deal with the new network.
I use Windows 10 without any real issues. For those who are Official Motorola CPS software owners/subscribers and stay up to date on your software, the latest releases of Professional. Support for Bluetooth Programming feature on MOTOTRBO 2.0 and SL Series radios. Latest CPS- 7.6 Build 384 Support for Linked Capacity Plus feature. In Windows 10 however it looks like its detecting it as a COMM 6 serial port. I had read online that Moto radios are normally detected as a 'USB Ethernet adapter'. However whenever I hook my radio up and hit READ it errors with 1687 'Unable to detect applicable devices'. CPS software its self loads fine, I can load a plug into and modify it fine as well. I accidentally left it at work so I threw the software on my desktop. Has anyone had any success in reading radios in Windows 10? I typically program my radio on my laptop which is running 8.1.
